Statement

My oil paintings are built in response to color. Fragmented composition, repeated symbols, and characters are developed as color fields emerge.

I work with the paradox of human nature in mind.  When painting I consider daily moments in my life. I reference long walks, sitting in the park, and subway commutes.  I contemplate physical traveling and stillness alike.  I think about how the mundane can also lend to instances of genuine connectivity, joy and miracles.
